GOALS
The joy of the automobile has been an evolving love affair for over a century. Modifying and customizing cars has been prevalent since the beginning. Lighter, faster, and better looking from generation to generation. Joy Performance builds off of this engine roaring and tire squealing history and looks at the evolving lifestyle of the driving enthusiast. Looking to the past while aiming towards the future, setting the trend in the wheel business with timeless design developing the next generation of future classics.
TEAM JOY
Right now it's just a guy. I (Justin Famularo) have been focused on designing wheels since 2013, founding Joy shortly after that. My background in design started with a BFA and an MFA at the College for Creative Studies with a focus in industrial design. Graduating during a recession and a Euro debt crisis definitely got me thinking more entrepreneurial. Wheel design helped me get my foot in the door in the automotive industry. I have worked as a CAD sculptor GM in a studio that flushed out packages and vehicle architecture. Surface Design at Rivian Automotive was an incredible amount of work from concept through production; I worked through 4 production wheels in conjunction with design studio, chassis engineering, and suppliers. I also worked on plenty of body styling surface, interior surface, and components. I have now pivoted to robots with Piaggio Fast Forward, something a bit more interdisciplinary as I rethink whatever Joy is.
